I was fighting it before, but now I’m in full fall mode. Flat boots, skinny jeans and quaint seasonal activities. Here are a few of my favorites for the weekend.
Ever want to try out a Bollywood class? How about a tap class? Or Latin? To celebrate its grand opening, the new American Rhythm Center is hosting Dance Free4All today and tomorrow. Just walk in and take a 20-minute sample class for free! Classes are running ever 20 minutes from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. today and 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. tomorrow. Check out the schedule to see what strikes your fancy.
I think my top recommendation for the weekend is the Andersonville Dessert Crawl, and, believe it or not, it’s not just for the food. When you sign up, you can pick one of three routes. Each takes you to a different set of restaurants and each gives you its own unique dessert. I did this last year, and I was shocked at how many different types of foods there are in Andersonville! I mean, the entire event is an advertisement for the neighborhood. And, of course, the food is yummy. Enjoy the beautiful day on Saturday strolling around a really fun neighborhood.
I went apple picking for the first time last year, and now I’m obsessed with it. The problem is that this general entails driving out to the suburbs, which the Chicago Quirk hates to do. Enter the Lincoln Square Apple Fest. You can grab bushels of apples for your home enjoyment or just go for the finished products.
