There is a plethora of Cinco de Mayo and Kentucky Derby themed events planned for this weekend, but as I read about them they all run together. Something with booze. Something that involves running. Something for charity. Totally cool if that’s your cat’s meow, but not so much for the Quirk.
Be sure to check out the moon tomorrow night! The moon will be at its closet point in its orbit to the Earth, resulting in the biggest and brightest full moon of the year.
Have you been to Long Grove? This is one of the few times when I encourage you to venture out into the suburbs because the Long Grove Chocolate Festival is this weekend. The historic downtown area is filled with local artisans, bakers and all manner of cuteness. The festival brings even more vendors out into the streets, offering homemade chocolately goodness and live entertainment.
