Were you super bummed when the Music Box Theatre 10th anniversary showing of Wet Hot American Summer sold out? You’re in luck! The theater has added another showing tonight at 10:30 p.m.!
The showings are hosted by The AV Club in honor of the film’s 10th anniversary. Co-writer/director David Wain will introduce both film screenings, as well as take part in a Q&A session by Scott Tobias, writer for The AV Club’s The New Cult Cannon.
And, since it’s the Music Box, character costumes are encouraged.
Have you read The AV Club? It’s hilarious. This entertainment newspaper is published by The Onion and can usually be found in the free editions of the newspaper. But unlike The Onion, The AV Club is not satirical. Although, while factual, you can assume the stories are highly opinionated and very funny. The New Cult Cannon is a column written by Tobias that highlights the new cult classic films that have come out of the ’90s and 2000s; like Wet Hot American Summer.
If you haven’t seen Wet Hot American Summer, you’ll be surprised by the number of famous comedy stars in the film; Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Molly Shannon, Paul Rudd, Christopher Meloni, Bradley Cooper, Amy Poehler, Ken Marino, Michael Ian Black and Elizabeth Banks.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $13 the day of. I’d probably get your ticket ASAP since the first showing sold out rather quickly.
