Saturday December 14th, 2013 

At 3pm at The Green Mill (4802 North Broadway) in Uptown is another installment of Paper Machete. Your host is the always charismatic Christopher Piatt, and featured performers include Gwynn FulcherJames Kennedy and many more. There’s also going to be some great cabaret tunes by the band Foiled Again, as well as special musical guests The Velcro Lewis GroupFree. 

If you haven’t seen it yet, I strongly suggest you see Calamity West‘s incredible new play The Peacock at 7:30pm at City Lit Theater (1020 W Bryn Mawr Ave). This astonishing show is set at an American university in 1946 and takes a challenging look at gender, violence and authorial intent. Get tickets here.

At 8pm, come out to the Lincoln Lodge (4008 N. Lincoln Ave) forThe Blackout Diaries with your host Sean Flannery. This interactive comedy show features famous performers telling their tales of drunken woe with audience members in the coziness of the famous Lincoln Lodge. Tickets are $10. 

Also at 8pm at the Raven Theater (6157 N. Clark St.) come see A Klingon Christmas Carol. This comedic retelling of Charles Dickens classic has already reached cult classic status due to the hilarious content and effervescent energy of the cast. Tickets are $20 and are available here

Sunday December 15th, 2013 

If you’re still scratching your head over what to get your brother-in-law for Christmas, why not come out to Quimby’s (1854 W North Ave) for the Quimby’s Holiday Sketch Gift-ravaganza and have one of your favorite Chicago artists draw you a Krampus in a cookie jar for him? This special event is part of Quimby’s Christmas campaign: The 12 Weeks of QuimbasFeatured artists include:
