As the saying goes, March comes in a lion and goes out like a lamb. Get ready for spring with these two seed swap in the Chicagoland area this weekend.
Chicago Seed Library will be hosting a seed swap at the Empty Bottle Farmers’ Market this Saturday. The market starts at Noon and there will be about a dozen vendors from the area. I, MrBrownThumb, will be facilitating the seed swap. Bring seeds saved from your gardens and farms and swap them with other gardeners and farmers in the Chicago area. See the post at the Chicago Seed Library for full details about the swap and how to prepare your seeds for swapping. Attendance for the seed swap is open to everyone, but the bar will be open so under 21 requires accompanying by an adult.
The next day, I’ll be helping my friends at the Forest Park Community Garden with their seed swap. If you’re a suburban Chicago gardener, and are looking to get in on the seed swapping action, see the event listing for this seed swap. The seed swap is free, but please RSVP.
