Antique Fair at Chicago Botanic Garden & New Gardening TV Show This weekend

Looking for something garden-related to do this weekend? The Chicago Botanic Garden is hosting their annual Antiques & Garden Fair. One-day ticket: $14/$17 Members pay the lower fee listed. Children under 16 free with an adult. Tickets available online and at the Visitor Center.

Nobody can say that Mike Nowak has a face for radio, because someone has gone and given him his own television show! He’s making the leap from being our local gardening radio show host to now being our local gardening television host.  Dig In Chicago, a show about Chicagoland’s local gardens, local food, and local issues will premiere on Saturday, April 21st, at 10:00am on Comcast Channel 102. For those of you who don’t have Comcast, it will also be available to view at the Dig In Chicago website.  Mike is really supportive of local gardeners and gardening groups so make sure to tune in and watch the premier of his new show. Congrats, Mike!

Also, in this Sunday’s Chicago Tribune I have an article on the plants sales coming up this spring and summer. If you didn’t start plants from seeds check out the article where I share tips on choosing a plant sale to attend and what you should expect as a customer.

Edit: If you are a local community garden or organization that has been contacting me about how to list your plant sale this year, subscribe to this blog. Next week I’ll have a full post about how the new way Chicago Tribune is listing plant sales this year.
