The Culutural Landscape Foundation’s What’s Out There Weekend is a series of free guided tours that show off Chicago’s parks and historic landscapes. During this weekend participants can visit 25 publicly accessible sites around Chicago this weekend.
Beth Botts, who writes for the Chicago Tribune and and Chicagoland Gardening magazine, recently wrote about how the Chicago Park District almost permanently destroyed Frederick Law Olmsted’s design of Washington Park with plans for a restoration will be one of the many volunteers giving guided tours.
