Friends inspired ice cream flavor to become a permanent part of the Serendipity collection
Inspired by the iconic Serendipity 3 Restaurant, Serendipity Brands is a line of super-premium ice cream made famous by the iconic New York City hotspot.
Serendipity 3 (or III) opened their doors at 225 East 60th Street in 1954 becaming a celebrity magnet. Regulars included Marilyn Monroe, Andy Warhol and even First Lady Jackie Kennedy.
The restaurant has been seen in many films, most notably the 2001 romantic comedy of the same name. So it is not surprising that Serendipity Brands newest line of ice cream flavors drew its inspiration from film. .
The Brand has paired with WarnerMedia Company’s entertainment unit to develop the following flavors::
Friends pint, Central Perk Almond Fudge
The Goonies pint, Sloth and Chunk Rocky Rooooaad?
CaddyShack, flavor TBA
A Christmas Story, flavor TBA
I had my first taste of the brand when a couple of pints were delivered to my doorstep, compliments of the brand.
I must confess that I am a bit of an ice cream snob–limiting my choices to premium brands including Graters, Ben & Jerry’s and Haagen-Dazs. Therefore when I learned about this promotion, I was suspect.
That was before I took my first bite of The Goonies. The creamy chocolate base infused with marshmallow swirl and fudge covered
almonds stood up to the hype. Same for the Central Perk Almond Fudge inspired by the fan-favorite show, “Friends.”
Both Central Perk Almond Fudge and The Goonies have been released and are available now at selected stores and online. CaddyShack
and A Christmas Story will be released later this year.
If you are a fan of ice cream and have never tried the Serendipity Brand, I highly recommend it–even if you aren’t a Goonies or Friends groupie.
However, if you are a fan “Friends” you may want to enjoy Central Perk after visiting The Friends Experience now open in Chicago.
