If you have wheat allergies then you’ve probably seen Mary’s Gone Crackers Gourmet products at Whole Foods or other specialty stores. I became aware of their new line of cookies at the recent Greenfest where they were giving out samples. Even though I’m avoiding sugar I gave into temptation. Luckily for me they are made with low glycemic sweeteners, zero trans-fats, contain high omega-3 chia seeds and are a blend of hearty, healthful ingredients.
So who is the Mary behind Mary’s Gone Crackers? Mary Waldner, like many of us with food allergies suffered from intense digestion pain and fatigue, she was eventually diagnosed with celiac disease. Her passion for finding wheat free options was further ignited when she found out her son was also a celiac. In 2004, Mary collaborated with her husband Dale Rodrigues and founded Mary’s Gone Crackers. Not only are the crackers and Sticks & Twigs (a light and crunchy pretzel snack) gluten free, organic and kosher but they also contain truly nutritious ingredients. Thankfully they do not contain the things we definitely don’t want like added oils, trans-fats, sugar or dairy.
