Look, I love Luol Deng. In the end, I think he more or less lived up to his current contract. He wasn't any special deal given the amount he was paid, but he gave the Bulls some very good years, and Chicago certainly did him no favors by grinding him into dust over them. The NBA can be a world of buy low and sell high. One of the tricky things about running a team is knowing when to cut bait with a player and when to hang on to one. Some guys can be effective into their mid to late 30s while other guys lose value in their late 20s. If you've followed this blog for awhile, you know I have the utmost respect for the Miami Heat as an opponent. I think they're clearly the best team in the NBA by a significant margin.
