There's a reason that Texas drawls make people sound stupid and Jenna Ryan may be the poster girl for just that.
Ryan, as seen on TV is the Carrollton, TX real estate lady who was arrested and charged with knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building without lawful authority and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
Her defense is elegantly simple and completely stupid. Says Ryan, The Devil made me do it.
It's hard to disagree that Donnie is the Devil, but Ryan was under no obligation to give credence to his words.
What if Donnie told her to take her private jet to Paris and base jump off the Eiffel Tower? Would that be her explanation to the local gendarmes?
If you're thinking that Ryan is a typical, misinformed Trumpanzee whose only source of information is Donnie's tweets, she is not.
Ms. Ryan assures us that she avariciously consumes Rudy Giuliani's delusional bullshit.
Not for nothing, but if Donnie's words have such impact, think about how many American lives could have been saved if he had supported masks and social distancing.
But I digress.
The President of the United States is Commander in Chief of active duty military personnel. He has no power over private citizens and can not order ANYONE to do ANYTHING illegal.
It's also noteworthy that ignorance of the law is never a defense. You can say you thought the age of consent was 12, but you're still going to jail.
You can say that you don't feel like a criminal just because you broke into your neighbor's house and spray painted Stop the Steal on his flat screen TV, but you are very much a criminal.
Ryan and her cohorts are not just spoiled, entitled brats who never learned the meaning of dignity or accountability, but they exhibit an unfathomable lack of decency and boundless ignorance.
Ryan's social media is chock full of evidence that she was planning to do exactly what she is charged with doing. Tony Baretta would have warned her not to do the crime if she can't do the time.
We’re gonna go down and storm the Capitol isn't ambiguous, is it?
Ryan equated it to saying she stormed into the kitchen, but that's not what she did.
She stormed the Capitol. Illegally.
As for the probability of violence, Ryan posted, This is a prelude to going to war. I’m not messing around.
Ryan even threatened the news media saying, If the news doesn’t stop lying about us we’re going to come after their studios next.
Summing up her Capitol field trip, Ryan said it was one of the best days of my life.
Now that Ryan has been arrested and charged by the FBI, she wants a pardon from the President because she was only doing his bidding.
Just following orders; the Nazi credo. The last defense for the indefensible.
If you think Ryan feels contrition, she doesn't. She said, I don’t feel a sense of shame or guilt from my heart.
She may need to see a cardiologist about that.
Despite her stupidity and guilt, Ryan may still get her pardon. If recent reports are correct, they're going for about $2 Million these days.
