George T. Conway III is a smart guy. He graduated from Harvard and got a law degree from Yale.
He even dated Fox’s Laura Ingraham, just to prove his Right wing credentials.
George and his wife, Kellyanne were enthusiastic supporters of Donald Trump’s presidential candidacy, although they would have supported any GOP candidate. Before “Low Energy Jeb” dropped out of the race, the Conways were in his corner.
Kellyanne was hired by Trump in July of 2016 to help him forge a strategy to appeal to women voters. She became Trump’s third campaign manager a month later when Paul Manafort got canned.
From the beginning, it was clear that Ms. Conway had the same tepid relationship with the truth as her boss, our Liar in Chief.
In her first week as Presidential Adviser, Ms. Conway introduced us to the concept of alternative facts. NBC’s Chuck Todd pointed out to Ms. Conway that alternative facts are not facts. They’re falsehoods.
Let’s just call them what they are; lies.
We all know the glass-half-empty-half-full thing, but that’s a matter of perspective. The indisputable, objective FACT is that half the glass is full of something.
In Trump’s and Conway’s world, facts are always in dispute. More often than not, they are asking us not to believe what we heard with our own ears and/or saw with our own eyes.
Kellyanne’s alternative facts reference was in defense of Sean Spicer’s claim that Trump drew the largest audience ever to witness an inauguration, period, both in person and around the globe.
That was a lie. Period
And so the stage was set for what is now some 13,000 presidential lies. And counting. And tweeting.
Mr. Conway has adopted the position that his wife is in a cult and there is plenty of evidence to support that theory. It may be no coincidence that yesterday was the 40th anniversary of the Jonestown massacre.
In a settlement called Jonestown in the South American country of Guyana, 900 members of the Peoples Temple drank a cyanide-laced drink as directed by their leader, Jim Jones.
Hence the origin of the saying, drinking the Kool-Aid.
Jones’s followers rejected reality and chose not only to believe his BS, but to blindly follow his instructions, even at the cost of their own lives.
I’m not comparing Donald Trump to Jim Jones. Or am I? Ever see a Trump rally on TV?
Everyone drawn into the Circle of Trump leaves without their dignity and their reputation in tatters. Loyalty to Donald Trump must be absolute, which includes doubling and tripling down on even the most ridiculous, easily disprovable lies.
Kellyanne may have been a relatively honest person before she began working for Donald Trump. I have no way to know. She was after all, in politics.
Whatever it was that drew into the circle, she went all in. The only way that George can get her out now is to have her kidnapped and deprogrammed by an exit counselor.
You can read more about that at Cult Rescue.
The Devil goes by many names; Svengali, Jim Jones, Little Donnie, Captain Bone Spurs or, as Ivanka likes to call him, Daddy.
Just remember that when you hear Kellyanne spewing lies and twisting her serpent tongue into knots, she is just doing the Devil’s bidding.
