Rare Photos: 1985 Chicago Bears

I know, I know, we've been here before. Some of us are, quite honestly, tired of hearing about the Super Bowl champion 1985 Chicago Bears. Not for lack of love or respect, but for want of a modern day version of that dominating group of pro football hall of famers. It's not easy, and teams like that don't come around every year. Heck, teams like that don't come around twice. Ever.

Recently, with the passing of one of the most important pieces on that 1985 team, Dave Duerson, Bears fans have relived some of that glory over in our heads; glory that seems to make the situation all the more tragic. Just prior to Duerson's suicide, ESPN shed some light on the disturbing story surrounding the life one of the most memorable figures from that team, William "Refrigerator" Perry. That story can be found here.

So it should come as no surprise that, when it comes to football, I've been thinking a lot about that historic team over the past couple weeks. My guess is many Bears fans are doing the same. So, to help put my mind at ease, I decided to seek out some of the best photographs I could find, archived from that '85 season. In addition to a few of the more widely recognized images, I was able to find some quite rare ones.

I hope you enjoy, and please share.
