Earlier in the month I created a blog post that featured the scariest monsters and scenes from art. The post proved to be very popular, being picked up by the Chicago Tribune website and eventually was featured on the frontpage of the Huffington Post.
I asked readers to contribute their favorite Halloween-related artwork and I would post it. By far, the most requested was Henry Fuseli’s The Nightmare. So here’s Fuseli along with other suggestions from readers. Enjoy! I mean, be scared!

Surprised there's no paintings from Otto Dix. His work looks as if it inspired the paintings from the TV show "Night Gallery".
