The Chicago Fashion Incubator Announces 2011 Designers in Residence

Last night, the 5th floor of The 900 Shops was packed with the city’s most stylish and chic as the Chicago Fashion Incubator (CFI) launched their pop up store and unveiled the 6 lucky designers (Concetta Cipriano, Shavonne Dorsey, Eric Kipp, Kahindo Mateene, Taneasha Prunty, and Crystal Simms) who will now be a part of this Macy’s run mentor program in 2011.

This 2,800 square foot retail shop, along with the 3,000 square foot event space will highlight CFI designers from the last four years starting on Thursday March 17th through Saturday April 23rd, giving city goers a chance to shop the styles of the hottest new talents around.

“The Pop Up at the 900 North Michigan Shops brings the CFI program to the public allowing us to celebrate the accomplishments of the alumni, while introducing the next generation of emerging talent in Chicago,” reveals Executive Director Lara Miller. “The store gives the designers the unique opportunity to sell and promote their brands at one of the premiere shopping centers in Chicago.”
