Once again, 900 North Michigan Shops will transform its atrium into a winter wonderland, as it hosts its annual, tree lighting ceremony, “Illuminate 900,’ on Thursday, November 15, from 6PM-8PM. The event is intended to be an arts-forward, community-wide kick off to the holiday season and promises to be a most magical celebration.
Artists from various Chicago neighborhoods will perform holiday classics throughout the evening, which is hosted by a committee of Chicago influentials representing the city’s rich, cultural diversity. A chorus of children will welcome the arrival of Santa Claus as he makes his way to light the 50ft tall Christmas tree and thus shine the first holiday lights on Michigan Avenue!
Partnering with key community members, arts organizations and school groups promises an enthusiastic gathering of young and old to usher in the spirit of the season. “Each year we set out to produce an event that will truly capture the magic of Christmas, and reignite the true meaning of the season in the hearts of Chicagoans everywhere!”, said Alicia Skruba, Marketing & Business Development Manager, 900 North Michigan Shops. “The magical evening is intended to be a holiday love letter to the City of Chicago, as well as a spirited way to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Illinois!”
A kick-off party was held at Artspace in The 900 Shops recently with committee members, Santa and his loyal Elf. Take a look!
