The Chicago International Television Festival, presented by Cinema/Chicago, will take place March 21st – 23rd at the AMC River East 21 (322 E. Illinois St.) This annual Festival features the best of the best in local, national and international television and will honor WGN’s entertainment reporter Dean Richards, legendary television producer Joe Sedelmaier and Amazon Studios.
The three day micro-Television Festival will feature special screenings and panel discussions. On Awards Night (hosted by Windy City Live’s Ji Suk Yi), Thursday, March 23, a cocktail reception in the Lucky Strike Lounge will precede the awards ceremony at 7:30 pm.
On opening night, March 21, the Festival will present two films, the world premiere of the pilot episode of “Public Housing” (a locally produced crime drama set in Chicago’s housing projects in the 1980s) and an Amazon docudrama about my old boss Hugh Hefner, titled “American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story” at 8 pm. (This new series, see preview here, will premiere on Amazon Video April 7).
