Ryan Dempster's "Casino Night" Brings out Athlete Friends

The Second Annual Ryan and Jenny Dempster Family Foundation Casino Night was held at the Palmer House recently.  This event was dedicated to raising awareness of the disorder, 22q11.2  Deletion, that affects their little daughter Riley.   The night raised $300K for the Dempster Family Foundation,  “Strike Out 22q”.

Guests enjoyed delicious Palmer House hors d’oeuvres and dinner plus an assortment of desserts presented by Wildfire.  There was a one-of-a-kind silent and live auction that included a signed Babe Ruth baseball that brought $22K, tickets to the Tonight Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live as well as game night experiences from the Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox.

The room was filled with athletes who came out to support this cause and included Carlos Zambrano,  Dave Otto, Cubs manager Mike Quade, former Cub Bobby Dernier, Carlos Marmol,  Starlin Castro, Sean Marshall, Jeff Samardzija, Reed Johnson and Randy Wells among many others.

It was a night filled with love and support for the beloved Dempster family and their foundation.
