Old St. Pat’s World’s Largest Block Party celebrated 27 years of its summer music and food fest with almost 20,ooo people in attendance. It was a perfect Chicago night as the happy guests enjoyed the sounds of Farraday, Cobra Starship, Plain White T’s, No Love for Linus, Matt Nathanson and the Barenaked Ladies during this two day event.
The food stands filled the air with delicious smells from Quang Noodle (which served, among other dishes, fabulous egg rolls), Nicholas Quality Meats (that served mouth-watering rotisserie pork and chicken and corn on the cob), OSP Bill & Bones Grill (which served burgers and brats), Connie’s Pizza, Suzie’s Fun Foods (which served my favorite funnelcake, foot-long hotdogs and Wisconsin cheese curds) and Robinson’s Ribs (which had some of the best pulled pork I’ve ever tasted!)
I was proud to be a celebrity bartender along with Ryan Chiaverini, Amy Jacobson, Kori Chambers, Rob Stafford, Anthony Ponce, Lourdes Duarte, Kori Chambers, John Garcia and Tammie Souza among others.
Proceeds from this annual event support the church and its Center for Social Concerns which houses its outreach programs.
This is a must-attend event and I hope to see you all there next year! My beer pouring skills will astound you!
