"Chefs & the City" is a Foodies' Delight for Vital Bridges

Thirty chefs participated in this year’s Chefs & the City event benefitting Vital Bridges. Held this year at the Ritz-Carlton, this much-loved event attracted over 400 guests.   Chef Ryan Poli’s new restaurant, Tavernita (opening this summer), participated as well as newcomer prasino, RL, Bistronomic (with Chef Martial Noguier and his cute son Mathieu serving up delicious homemade pate), Mercat, Province, Shanghai Terrace, Lockwood, Cafe Spiaggia, Sepia, Girl and the Goat, JAM and More Cupcakes among many others.

The night also included a fashion show by Mark Shale’s Maria Pinto that featured their Fall 2011 Collection.  Maria said, “You’re going to see what you wouldn’t expect from Mark Shale and love it!”  And she was right, I did!

The Robert S. Mayo “Extra Helping” Award went to Joyce Dawson for all of her generosity and support of Vital Bridges. The VIP after-party was held in the Carlton Club.

Vital Bridges’ Director of Development, Hank Watson, oversaw this successful benefit along with Honorary Co-Chairs Amanda Puck,  Rich Varnes and moi.  Vital Bridges’  mission is to help people throughout Chicago impacted by HIV and AIDS to improve their health and build self-sufficiency by providing food, nutrition and housing.

It was a food-filled night of fun!  Congrats to Vital Bridges for a wonderful party for a great cause!!
