Joffrey Ballet's "Pointe of Departure" Party Rocks Randolph!

The Joffrey Ballet’s Auxiliary Board (JAB) threw a party and EVERYBODY came!  Archisesto at 1006 W. Randolph in the West Loop, was the venue for this young board’s first major event, Pointe of Departure, and it was so hot the windows were steamy!  I think even event co-chairs, Jennifer Anton and John Walcher along with their formidable committee, were surprised at the turnout on this cold and snowy night.  This unique party included artwork from local artists and artists-to-be inspired by a toe shoe.  Even Joffrey dancers…

Matthew Adamczyk and Temur Suluashvili participated by donating some of their custom creations while Joffrey Women Board members, Dana Hokin Garvy and Barbara Levy Kipper, donated beautiful artwork of their own.  Even Joffrey’s VP of Development, Rhonda Brown, had painted a charming scene.  Famed artist Francine Turk donated one of her coveted charcoals on linen entitled “Angeline.”  There was something to entice everyone as well as an extensive silent auction with a highlight being two tickets on United Airlines to the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort in Nayarit, Mexico.  DJ Sadie Woods kept the energy pumping while Wolfgang Puck kept the crowd fueled for fun.  Artist Rosemary Fanti illustrated glam guests on the spot to take home as souvenirs. Other participating artists included Mario Alberico, Blake Barrett, Kevin Berlin, Lynn Chaloupka, Barbara Edwards, Jason Fairchild, Jason Fricke, Michael Gagliardi, Rob Hogan, Herbert Migdoll and Mila Samokhina among many others.  I see great things in the future of this fun-loving, high energy board!  I think JAB Membership Chair, Callie Michels, is going to be a very busy lady!  For more info, please visit
