Joffrey Ballet's Couture & Cocktails is the Hottest Ticket in Town! (PICS!)

Joffrey Ballet’s Couture & Cocktails 2010 Co-Chairs Kristina McGrath and Marci Holzer with this year’s designer, Carmen Marc Valvo.

I am proud and honored to report that the Joffrey Ballet’s 5th annual “Couture & Cocktails” is still the hottest ticket in town thanks to this year’s new co-chairs Kristina McGrath and Marci HolzerHelen Melchior and I created this event 5 years ago and have watched it grow by leaps and bounds every year.  This year’s fashion star was Carmen Marc Valvo, a handsome and amiable American designer who presented a glamorous collection of cocktail dresses and evening gowns to an SRO crowd of over 600.

The models’ hair was styled with a nod to the ’40’s by Charles Lord and many of them wore jaunty little hats with silky evening coats to complete the looks.  The sexy W City Center was the perfect venue for this uber chic and exciting party.

The Joffrey dancers were introduced and strutted their stuff on the runway.  Next the live auction was conducted by Michigan Avenue Magazine’s Susanna Negovan and her husband Tom which included many exotic trips plus even lunch with ‘da Mayor!  Then the dancing began in earnest with DJ Chicago spinning the hottest club mixes.  The dance floor was filled to the very end.

Make sure to mark your calendars now for this time next year, when Chicago’s party of the year, Couture & Cocktails, returns!   (
