The stars were aligned last week when four iconic fashion giants came together to celebrate spring. J. Mendel, BoChic jewelry and Visual Therapy’s Jesse Garza and Joe Lupo all showcased their must-have selections for 2010 on a windy night on Chicago‘s Mag Mile. Handsome doormen greeted you with champagne upon your arrival at the glamorous J. Mendel store at 919 N. Michigan Avenue. The spring 2010 collection showed dresses and gowns in the palest whispers of color in organza and sculptural tulle. Designer Gilles Mendel said his message for spring is all about “specialness, preciousness and value with a little something to make you dream.” There is more than enough femininity to make you dream you are a fairy princess but there is also structure in many of his daytime pieces. I think it’s one of the prettiest collections I’ve seen in a long time.
Co-hosting the party was David Joseph, founder of BoChic jewelry which is the go-to-line for Hollywood A-listers such as Halle Barry, Sandra Bullock, Eve Mendes, Angelina Jolie and Hillary Swank. First Lady Michelle Obama is a fan too! The pieces are inspired by ancient jewelry techniques but have a thoroughly modern and luxurious look.
My long time friends, Jesse Garza and Joe Lupo, founders of Visual Therapy (and two of the cutest and nicest guys you’ll ever meet), were also hosts and were celebrating their latest book, “Work It!.” Visual Therapy was founded in 1995 and has developed into the gold standard for luxury lifestyle consulting. They are frequent contributors on the Oprah Show, have written several books and have been dubbed “The Closet Whisperers.”
Spring is in the air and it’s going to be VERY stylish!
