BullsvilleTV, Episode 3
Episode 3 of BullsvilleTV is the longest to date, because there was a lot to cover. I discuss Melo staying in New York, the Pau Gasol signing, Nikola Mirotic coming over from Europe, and the trades that had to be made so the Bulls would have enough cap space to sign the big men. Gasol sign and trade to the Bulls, could this precede Melo sign and trade?

Gasol sign and trade to the Bulls, could this precede Melo sign and trade?
The Spanish newspaper Marca is reporting that a Pau Gasol sign and trade to the Bulls is all but completed, although they haven’t indicated exactly what other players will be involved in the deal. If you don’t want to read the entire article in Spanish, here are the main points that were made: The Bulls were... Read more »

Melo sign and trade to the Bulls? It's still possible, Jazz might help

Melo sign and trade to the Bulls? It's still possible, Jazz might help
A Melo sign and trade to the Bulls is still possible, if you listen to the latest media reports. Even though Frank Isola said Melo resigning with the Knicks was a done deal, his story turned out to be complete bullshit. I’m not saying that Melo won’t wind up resigning with the Knicks – I... ESPN NBA free agent coverage - insulting your intelligence

ESPN NBA free agent coverage - insulting your intelligence
ESPN is by far the largest sports media corporation on planet Earth. ESPN has all kinds of TV networks, and a huge radio network. ESPN NBA coverage is hard to avoid. Not that there’s anything wrong with that… There is, however, something wrong with giving people blatantly false misinformation. And if you see any ESPN... Read more »

Amnesty Boozer - the Bulls have many options

Amnesty Boozer - the Bulls have many options
Will the Bulls amnesty Boozer? Now that the NBA draft is over, that seems to be the $16.8 million question for Bulls fans. For the uneducated fan, the answer is a simple “no, because Reinsdorf is too cheap to amnesty Boozer, he’ll never pay him to play for another team”. Or the equally ignorant “if... Read more »

Melo as a free agent AND trade for Love? Bulls can do it

Melo as a free agent AND trade for Love? Bulls can do it
Can the Bulls sign Carmelo Anthony as a free agent (without a sign and trade) and then have enough assets left to trade for Kevin Love? A reader sent me that question (kudos to Jay Sparkz), but when he asked, it was with the attached condition that Melo sign for the same salary as Derrick... Read more »

    Bullsville

Don Ellis started covering sports professionally when he was 15. The same year (1980), as a student assistant at Seeger Memorial High School in West Lebanon, IN, he was one of the first in the world to use, study and implement analytics in basketball. He attended Daytona State College and Ball State University, and some of his past credits include InsideHoops (NBA Runaround: The NBA According to Ellis) and ESPN Florida (The Florida Sports Reporters), where he was fortunate enough to work with many rising stars, including NFL Network's Dan Hellie, Redskins coach Jay Gruden, Magic radio and TV personality Dante Marchitelli, and WSB-TV (Atlanta) Sports Director Zach Klein. In addition to running the Bullsville blog and officiating basketball, baseball and football for the KHSAA, he is also a bass player and vocalist who writes and produces music in his spare time (you may remember his internet hit "I Hate Eddy Curry"). He's a 3rd-generation Cubs fan, a Bulls fan since the days of Van Lier and Sloan, and a life-long New England Patriots fan. He's seen Primus 9 times and thinks Les Claypool walks on water. By far his greatest accomplishment is being a father of three and grandfather of one.
