Ahhh... Spring!

Ahhh... Spring!

Ahhh… Spring!

Standing still.

Breathing deeply.

Caressing olfactories; coolness refreshing.

Smells of moldy leaves edging.

Bulbs poking, screaming “My Turn!”

Birds!

Hawks circling, Bluejays squawking.

Mourning Doves crying.

Cardinals singing.

Squirrels dancing, hungrily searching.

Breathing deeply.

Standing, wallowing in sunshine.

Feeling brightness, renewing warmth.

Winter fleeing, Spring encroaching.

Humans stop hibernating.

Kids playing.

Street hockey sticks clacking and banging.

Breathing deeply.

People smiling.

People greeting.

Easter approaching.

Love never-ending.

Sacrifice coming.

Jesus dying; Jesus rising.

Shouts flying; joy abounding!

Life everlasting.

Breathing deeply.

Windows opening.

Breezes blowing.

Basking, glowing.

Sun shining.

Breathing deeply.

Ah… Spring!

Genesis 8:22 (NASB)

22 “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”

Isaiah 55:10-11 (NASB)

10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there without watering the earth and making it bear and sprout, and furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; 11 So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

Maybe I’m getting old. Maybe this winter was atrocious and just needed to go away.

Do you ever write poetry? What inspires you?
