Nail progress report week 2

My goal is to share ALL the knowledge I have obtained over the last nine years about hair, skin and nails with everyone who is "Mane conscious"!

Things are growing along just fine!  My method is still on point, and once again I've managed to keep my manicure for two weeks YAAY!  This technique is a proven science for sho yall...just watch my nails grow!  Continue reading to see how I manage to do this, and after today, I will post an article titled Nail progress report bi-weekly with photos and any new developments, so stay tuned and watch my nails grow!!

Friday - Remove old nail polish with a non-acetone nail polish remover, but I recommend one that is protein enriched with vitamin E.  File each nail slightly running the soft side of an emery board across each nail in one direction, somewhat like a dusting.  My cuticles are an oval shape therefore I form them into a square shape slightly rounding the edges. Wash hand with soft soap, and once done washing gently push back cuticles with a wooden stick.

Warm the "mane" oil concoction in microwave a minute or so.  While the oil is warming begin mashing your nails into the garlic clove, and you are ready to start soaking.  After soaking nails for 10, 15 minutes or however long you want to soak, blot off any excess oil (on the towel you have readily available), and under warm Aquasana water wet your hands, add a few drops of soft liquid soap lather up and rinse. Apply moisturizing lotion, or my favorite is 100% unrefined shea butter.

A friend of mine once told me I like extra...well so be it! lol  NEW step, but not really, I've been doing this for a while now just never included it don't know why, just didn't.  Anyway, apply apple cider vinegar using a Q-tip around the edges of each nail including cuticles, then after it absorbs in apply a thin layer of white iodine to each nail bed allow it to dry and you are done!  Its that simple, and your hands, and nails will look and feel great!

Saturday - This day is my personal spa day! (AAH) :D  After my bath, skin moisturizing with body butter and fragrant lotion, facial, and whatever wonderful conditioning/styling I am doing to my hair I re-wash my hand with a generous amount of soft soap to remove the residue left behind on my nails from all the products.  Wait for about an hour or so then apply a base coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Brite it goes on thin and dries fast.  Next apply a coat of Sally Hansen Miracle Cure this product really do perform miracles guaranteed! This one also goes on thin, and dries very quickly as well.  Now on to the mother of nail strengtheners, and final applications of base coats, OPI Matte Nail Envy it adds excellent strength while adding a nice smooth matte finish and lays foundation for a more even smoother polish application.  Note this one doesn't dry as quickly as the other two, and its thicker so give this one time to dry.  After this coat dries go about your business.  Add two coats of whatever nail color you choose to ware, wait about 5 minutes between each application then apply Sally Hansen Dries instantly 30 second top coat and you are all done!  Important note: Remember to apply Sally Hansen Complete Care Extra Moisturizing 4-in- 1 Treatment every other day for extra strength, and moisture.  I should own stock in Sally Hansen company! :) #Real talk! I will be giving away a complete "mane attraction nailed it" care package which will include all the above mentioned items so be on the lookout for details!!

Peace and Love,

Cynthia
