Daily dose of sunscreen

Cynthia Washington

My goal is to share ALL the knowledge I have obtained over the last nine years about hair, skin and nails with everyone who is "Mane conscious"!

Springtime is here and summer is upon us let's get ready for fun in the sun!  Remember to apply sunscreen daily especially if outside for more than 20 minutes.  Apply it on the areas not covered by clothing like your face, neck, and arms.  The SPF's number refer to the product's capability to shield or block the sun's harmful UVA/UVB rays.

The American Melanoma Foundation recommends using a sunscreen with an SPF15 or greater year-round for all skin types.  However, The American Academy of Dermatology recommends using SPF of at least 30, all year long even on cloudy days.

I started using Avenno positively ageless sunscreen lotion in November 2009, and I am thoroughly pleased with this product.  It's not just an SPF30 sunscreen, it's a moisturizer with natural shiitake complex!  Shiitake complex is suppose to stimulate cell renewal, even out skin tones, and smooth away fine lines and wrinkles.

This lotion actually smoothed out some of the fine lines that were starting to form underneath  my eyes!  I strongly recommend this product.  It's not just any sunscreen, it is a moisturizing hypoallergenic noncomedogenic UVA/UVB SPF30 lotion that smooth away fine lines while protecting your skin from the sun.

Today's tip:  Don't forget to protect your lips they need sunscreen too! Click on the word lips to see a few SPF30 lip balm options.
