"The Real L Word: Chicago" could be in our future

Late last night, news broke that The L Word creator Ilene Chaiken would be bringing a lesbian reality TV show to Showtime later this year. Though it'll initially be The Real L Word: Los Angeles, Ilene told Variety that she hopes it will have "franchise" potential, similar to shows like The Real Housewives which take place in several different cities every season.

Of course, this leaves Chicago open to the possibility of our own lesbian reality show if the initial one really takes off.

Based on the character prototypes of The L Word, here are my suggestions should casting directors head to the Midwest:

Tamale Sepp: The comedian and burlesque performer would definitely keep the entertainment value high. Plus, we all need a little more ginger in our lives. Something tells me the LA version will be very, very blonde.

Searah Deysach: Owning and maintaining a feminist sex shop is sure to make any camera-time more fun. Plus, she knows everyone, so there would be no shortage of interesting characters.

Jenae Williams: A party promoter who knows all of the hot spots, day to night, Jenae would certainly stir up some drama.

Alice Gleason: Captain of the Windy City Rollers all-star team, Alice (or Malice with Chains) would be sporty, sweaty and we'd get an inside look at life as a derby girl.

Laurie Petrushkevich: Owner of classy wine bar Joie de Vine and Karma hair salon, the women could gather for some drinks or talk shop while getting their hair done. Both places are perfect for gossip or bathroom trysts.

Who would you want to see on The Real L Word: Chicago? Yourself?
