Reeling is ready to go with lesbian films

Every fall, the Reeling Gay and Lesbian Film Festival brings the best queer movies of the year to Chicago. Today, they announced their line-up for November, and with tickets going on sale in October, it's time to start planning which ones you'll want to make sure to see. Here's a run-down of some of the lesbian-directed films will be showing this year:

And Then Came Lola

Lesbian actresses Jill Bennett and Cathy deBuono star in this film based on the indie hit, Run Lola Run.

Fish Out of Water

The fest's centerpiece documentary is directed by Chicagoan Ky Dickens and has music from out musician Kaki King. It recently made its premiere at Outfest, and focuses on the crossover between homosexuality and religion.

Nancy Kissam
directs this film about a woman who kills her husband takes off with her lover and children.

Night Fliers

A small-town girl goes through a rough patch with family and coming out.

We Are the Mods

Sadie and Nico are two girls in the 1960s who embrace mod culture, and each other.

Also playing with lesbian themes: Fiona's Script, Family, and Training Rules. Keep checking back for when tickets go on sale in early October.
