One Lesbian Reason... to see "Jennifer's Body"

This might fall under the category of blatantly obvious, but I want to stress the importance of going to see a movie written by a woman, directed by a woman, and starring women. It's how movies by women keep getting funded and made. Juno writer Diablo Cody's new teen horror film, Jennifer's Body, opens tonight at midnight, and besides the fact that women are behind it all, is the fact that stars Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried share a Sapphic scene together.

Here's a glimpse:

Although Megan Fox has had her fair share of stupid things to say about lesbians and bisexuals (claiming she is the latter, herself), she's one of few in Hollywood that are so outspoken about her love of women - including Olivia Wilde. And Diablo Cody recently told The Frisky that the kiss was not meant to be gratuitous or for PR purposes, so I can't get much more excited than I already am to see Jennifer's Body.

Oh wait - it's named after a Hole song and features The Runaways in its trailer. More excited, starting now.

Tonight, you can see it at AMC River East at 12:01. Otherwise, it's playing in select theaters starting tomorrow.
