Lesbian in local indie band gets injured in car crash

I have some good news, and I have some bad news. I'll start with the good.

Local indie band The Scotland Yard Gospel Choir have played with the likes of the Arcade Fire and Violent Femmes, and are signed to the alternative country/folk/punk label, Bloodshot Records. They just released their new album, And On The Horse You Rode in On, on Sept. 15. Among the band is lesbian member, Mary Ralph. She's pretty adorable, right?

The bad news: Mary has suffered a broken collar bone and pelvis after the band got into a car crash while on tour in Indiana last week. As of yesterday, she was still in the hospital with one other member, while the others have been released.

Because of the medical and equipment expenses, Bloodshot has set up a PayPal donation link for the band, in hopes that fans will give whatever they can to help out.

If you're unfamiliar with TSYGC, definitely check out their music and consider buying an album or making a donation (or both). Hopefully the band will be in good shape and back on tour (and playing live in Chicago) in no time.
