CellStories goes gay

If you ever find yourself having finished your book, forgetting your Red Eye or just plain bored on the trip home from work, there is now the perfect antidote available to you, as long as you have a cell phone and the ability to connect to the internet. Cellstories.net is a Chicago-run website from former Punk Planet publisher Dan Sinker that is updated with a new short story to read every day.

Today's story, "Go Ahead," is by out lesbian Sara Kerastas of the 2nd Story and Serendipity Theater Collective. The narrative is about a phone operator who connects calls for the hearing impaired, and also makes mention of a long distance relationship the character had with her girlfriend, Katie.

If you're a writer, CellStories are looking for submissions, including "short stories, personal essays, narrative journalism, creative nonfiction, more experimental storytelling forms. The key, really, is a story. Something captivating. Something that moves." We always need more lesbian stories out there, especially available for free and wherever you may roam.
