I'm Spiritual, Dammit

Nurture your family this holiday season

So it's that giving time- and we are wondering where, if anywhere, we should donate to charities before the end of the year.  I've been honored to be helping with a group called NURTURE since last fall- and if you are passionate about creating healthy eating habits for you and your kids- this is for you...

NURTURE is the brain child of Kathryn Guylay- one of my classmates from Evanston Township High School and a mother of two.  After seeing how many children get diagnosed with diabetes because of poor eating habits, she wanted to get people educated.

"We don't realize that it's so easy to make healthy food that's actually delicious," she explained.

She got a group of mom's together to donate their time, knowledge, and rice cookers.  They tested recipes for months, and put the word out to the community.  Now, the NURTURE gals have a waiting list of families who want to take part in their classes.  They're extending programs to teen moms and getting the word out that eating right is easy and necessary.  The only way they can serve all of those in need is through donations to buy supplies.  (Each family that takes part in Nurture is given rice cookers, and groceries.)

So watch this video- donate to NURTURE, and feel good about it...After all, part of being spiritual is giving to others.  It always comes back to you somehow...
