Colorful candy can be beautiful and fun.Welcome back to my weekly 'Wedding; Ways You Can Save'  series.  Last week we discussed ways to save on your wedding dress and highlighted 8 wedding gown's under $400.

This week we're talking about table centerpieces.

Flowers have been the traditional choice over the years.  The upside to floral centerpieces is their fresh elegant beauty, but the downside is arrangements can easily cost over one hundred dollars a table.  Centerpiece height, species and number of flowers all play a roll in cost.

The great news is centerpieces have become much more about expression and creativity.  Delivering something guests haven't seen before.    Innovative and unique centerpieces can be less costly and leave a lasting impression.
Getting creative can save you a bundle as well.  Candles, fruit, sand, pumpkins, candy, cupcake towers and plants are all inexpensive items to work with when building a centerpiece.

If flowers are important to you, there is a less expensive approach.  Floating just a few in a glass bowl or using rose petals to scatter around the table can give you the look of florals at a fraction of the price.  Also consider ordering flowers from wholesalers and creating your own look.  Many websites sell fresh bulk flowers at deep discounts.  Visit www.100roses.net where you can buy 100 red roses for $95, or www.wholesale-wedding-flowers.com and purchase one hundred Gerber daisies for $130.  It certainly takes ambition and group of willing workers, but the savings can be worth it.

The bottom line is, your centerpiece can be beautiful and affordable  as long as you apply a little thought and creativity to it.
