As a current senior studying journalism at DePaul, I am also a prospective law student. I am excited to graduate but I will miss the city.

This week, the weather forecast is calling for a few snow flurries and many days of cold weather. With this in store, you'll need to get out of the house but into somewhere warm! Check out a few of the activities below going on in Old Town this week.

Are you a country fan? Do you enjoy the farmer's tan, cowboy hats and southern drawl? If yes, pull out those cowboy boots and get ready for some fun because Joe Nichols is coming to town! Joe's Bar on Weed Street is hosting Joe Nichols this Friday, March 5 at 8:00PM. Tickets are only $20.00! Yee-haw!

Annnnnd Action! Come watch your favorite celebrities walk down the red carpet while they anxiously await the Academy Awards ceremony. 33 Club, located at 1419 N. Wells is hosting an Oscar party for you to enjoy! As the 82nd annual Academy Awards kicks off, you can guess the winners for a chance to win a night at The Elysian Hotel. The party starts at 7:00PM on Sunday, March 7, reservations recommended!

The Old Town Triangle Association is also hosting an awesome event this week! On Saturday, March 6, The Teahouse of the August Moon will be preformed at 3:30PM. Featuring an all-star cast of actors, this comedy is sure to entertain the entire audience. Call Shirley Baugher (312-337-1938) or visit the Old Town Triangle Association's website to make your free reservations.

It's never too early to introduce your children to the educational value of reading. As such, the Near North Library is hosting Bouncing Babies March Lapsit this Thursday, March 4. This early literacy program is designed for all babies between birth and 18 months. Come learn about books and songs for you to share with your child. To register, call the Near North Library (312-744-0991), or visit their website for more information. Space is limited!

With the cold weather in the forecast for this week, there are plenty of things to do around town to keep you both warm and entertained! Enjoy your week and stay tuned for events coming up next week!
