Kmart Super Doubles Trip

OK, I caved. I succumbed to the siren song of Kmart Super Doubles. I did pretty well, but I must warn you -- I have never been able to do a Super Doubles trip in less than 2 hours. Maybe if I were better organized or if I didn't have the kids with me.

I did OK -- $50 worth of stuff for $10.

The coupon for the thing I really wanted to use for free product, Softsoap Ensembles refills, was no longer available, but I did have those four $.55/1 Reece's coupons, which would translate to four free 10-packs of Reece's (on sale for $1 this week) for our block party pinata this weekend. Naturally, those coupons got lost in the back of my coupon file while I was there, and despite hauling all my coupons out of the file to sort through them on a shelf, I coudln't find them until I got back. Of course, it didn't help that I was shopping with a rambunctious toddler and an infant.

As a consolation, I was able to get a bunch of my husband's favorite deodorant for free. That high-maintenance man -- I've got a bag of deodorants sitting around from the Unilver Catalina, but he wanted his frangrance-free Mitchum. And now he's got it.

These are the things I got free after coupon:

2 packs Huggies wipes travel size $1.99 each (used $2/2 Huggies bath & body coupon from inside Huggies box)

4 sticks Mitchum deodorant bogo @ $3.99 (used two $2/1 coupons that printed out at Jewel)*

Starbucks Frappucino bottle (This stuff is disgusting and has 340 calories! I was bummed once I drank that then read the calories and realized I could have had a milkshake.) (used $1/1 from 6/21 SmartSource)

Large bottle Softsoap on sale for $3.99 (used $2 Walgreens Register Reward)*

Kotex Lightadays $1.29 (use $1/1)

Things I got for cheap:

1 pack Huggies wipes $1.99 (used a $.75/1 from mailer to get it for 50 cents)

1 pack Pampers $9.99 (used a $2/1 coupon from somewhere to get it for $6)

2 boxes baking soda 69 cents each (used $.75/2 to get them for 32 cents each)

2 cans Campbell's soup $1.49 each (used $1/2 to get them for 50 cents each)

chocolate chips for $2.29 (used $.50/1 that printed at Jewel to get them for $1.29*)

Fillers:

Heath bar 89 cents

hair bands $1.99

I used the $5/$50 from the Sunday ad, and I tried to use the free product coupons, but I guess you can only use one special Kmart coupon per transaction.

Note: If your Kmart has ice cream (mine doesn't even have a freezer), the $2/1 Starbucks Ice Cream coupons from the 8/9 RedPlum would probably get you a free pint. It was priced at $3.99 at Target.

* I e-mailed my local Kmart manager before I went to ask whether manufacturer's coupons with the logos of other stores would be accepted. He said yes and so I had the email printed in order to prove it to the cashier if she gave me any trouble with the Mitchum coupons or the Register Rewards. But she didn't give me any flack and they doubled just fine.
