The Doak Walker Award for college football's best running back has released it's 2009 watch list and three Big Ten runners are among the 45.

Wisconsin's John Clay, Ohio State's Dan Herron, and Michigan's Brandon Minor made the cut and are expected to have huge season's for their respective teams. That being said, none of those backs have accomplished what Penn State's Evan Royster has and his absence from the list is shameless.

Royster, the Big Ten's leading returning rusher, finished fourth in rushing behind 2008 Doak Walker winner Shonn Greene, Doak Walker finalist Javon Ringer, and Chris "Beanie" Wells. Royster himself was named a Doak Walker semifinalist last November.

First and Big Ten is following up with the Doak Walker committee to determine if this was an oversight. Stay tuned as we follow this throughout the day.

Royster had 1,236 yards and 12 touchdowns last season as a sophomore for Penn State.
