BadgerBeat.com reported this morning that Wisconsin senior safeties Aubrey Pleasant and Shane Carter have been suspended indefinitely by coach Bret Bielema.  Bad news for the Badgers, as any time a team loses the services of two players at the same position, depth become an instant concern.

No further details were released by the team, and according to David Kmiecick of NBC 15 in Madison, Bielema declined to explain the reason for the suspension after today's practice.

In other news around the Big Ten...
Hawkeyes banged up?  Iowa beat writer Marc Morehouse of the Daily Gazette "tweeted" from practice today that several Iowa standouts didn't participate, including running back Jewel Hampton and offensive lineman Bryan Bulaga.  Not sure if there's any reason for concern in Iowa City there or not...

Purdue hoping for big things from secondary.
The Lafayette Journal and Courier's Mike Carmin caught up with Purdue defensive backs coach Lou Anarumo to talk about the Boilermakers' veteran secondary, which could quite possibly be the team's greatest strength in Danny Hope's debut season as head coach.

BTN visits both Michigan schools.  The Big Ten Network preseason tour continues with last night's broadcast from Ann Arbor and today's show from East Lansing.  If you're a Wolverine or Spartan supporter, it's a great chance to see the team in action.  After watching the Wolverines, anchor Dave Revsine is predicting a .500 record for U-M in 2009, followed by big things a year from now.  As far as the Spartans, BTN is reporting that Blair White "has no clue" who will win the starting quarterback job.  That makes millions of us.
