Comedy.com List Spurs Two Night Industry Showcase

Rip rockin' Steve O. Harvey will be hosting my audition show. Have you seen the arm on that guy?

A few months back, Comedy.com released a list of the 20 Best Standups in Chicago.  Compiled by former Chicago (now LA) comic Mike Bridenstine, and based upon the input of bookers and comics currently involved in the Chicago scene, the list garnered a lot of attention, some of it negative; comics don't generally dig being ranked.  I say we owe Mike a debt of gratitude, because besides his intended fairness in talking with a wide range of Chicago folks before making the list, he also opened the door for a two day showcase event for huge talent management company New Wave Entertainment at the Lincoln Lodge.
New Wave contacted the Lodge shortly after the publication of Comedy.com's list with the aim of setting up a showcase for Chicago's top up-and-comers, a big deal for a scene known for its lack of industry folks.  Chicago is an amazing comedy incubator for comic talent, but the chance to showcase before management companies is more rare in these parts than in New York and LA.

The Lodge is putting on three special shows over the next two days; 30 of Chicago's top standups will have a chance to perform, which means you would hit comedy paydirt by coming out for any or all of the following shows:

Thursday at 9 PM: THE PUTERBAUGH SISTERS, MIKE STANLEY, JOHNNY BEEHNER, CAMERON ESPOSITO, LIL REL, SEAN FLANNERY, DAN POLYDORIS, MIKE PALASCAK, DIVISION AND HONORE, JOE KILGALLON, JOE FERNANDEZ, MARTY DEROSA, RAY LIPOWSKI, hosted by STEVE O. HARVEY.

Friday at 7 p.m: BETH STELLING, C.J. TOLEDANO, KEN BARNARD, CHAD BRIGGS, C.J. SULLIVAN, SASHA AND THE NOOB, DANNY KALLAS, DAN TELFER, MIKE SHEEHAN, BRIAN BABYLON, PAUL THOMAS, BILL CRUZ, hosted by CARRIE CALLAHAN.

Friday at 9 p.m: ELIOT RAHAL, MONTE, PRESCOTT TOLK, ADAM BURKE, RICKY CARMONA, BRENDAN MCGOWAN, JUNIOR STOPKA, JAMES FRITZ, CHASTITY WASHINGTON, DREW MICHAEL, JOE KWACZALA, hosted by ETHAN PELDO
