Recession goes to church

Crain's Chicago Business has been the leading source of news and insight on the city's economic scene for over 30 years.

The past year's unholy economic crunch is sparing nobody. Even the city's houses of worship are being clipped. Offering plates are coming back lighter and some members are losing their religion as job cuts and plunging home values take their toll.

It's another slice of life in the worst recession in decades. Crain's Senior Reporter Monee Fields-White has the story.
