Glass pops into crowd and the mind wanders...

Eventually you see everything twice, either through your stereo eyes or by being around long enough. And so it was that after Brent Seabrook smashed St. Louis Blues blue liner Alex Pietrangelo into the boards AND the [glass popped out](http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chicago-wolves-call-of-the-wild/2009/12/live-from-the-united-center---hit-by-seabrook-to-pietrangelo-pops-glass-out.html), landing in the crowd. As it happened I thought: I've seen this before.

The first time I saw glass fall into the stands it shattered everywhere-- it was back at the time when Harry Dumas was still a referee. Dumas was calling that game. The rumor was that the man was a relative of Kerry Fraser. Fraser himself often makes lists of worst refs ever. When Dumas called a game, it revolved around him, not the play on the ice. This ego-centric beneficiary of nepotism finally had his due when the league did not renew his contract.

Dumas makes my list of worst referees ever. He was there the last time I saw a pane of glass land in the crowd. He makes my list as among the worst referees in the sport and the one that I'm most happy is no longer around. Funny how a pane of glass makes you think about this stuff. Here is the full list, in no particular order:

  • ANYONE with the last name of Koharski (there are currently two with orange sleeves)
  • Tudor Floru
  • Harry Dumas

Why so short? I figure this is a great place for you, the reader, to get into the action. Who are the worst officials you've seen in the world of hockey? Why?
