About Barbara

From an early age I recognized my ability and passion to explore fashion. First with designing clothes for dolls and later in my teen years taking fashion magazines and adding accessories to models that I preferred. Obviously, I've always enjoyed accessories and creating a signature of my own. Later in college I embraced history because it was a way of documneting the times through fashion. I love the era of flapper clothing along with the glamour era of the 50's in Hollywood and later punk became something that fascinated me. Today, I still follow the distressing of garments as a way to uncover the secrets of there design and structure. Later I went into teaching and learned that I needed to fufill my passion of fashion and opened a boutique. From the boutique I realized I wanted to reach a wider audience through T.V. which required going back to school again to study television and journalism. I was lucky to land a position with Glamour magazine for 6 years along with other publications which eventually led me to CS magazine.

Yes, I believe fashion is about continuing to move forward and changing. Throughout my career I have earned a national reputation as an expert in the fashion community. After leaving my post at NBC 5 and CS magazine, my focus has shifted to helping men and women reach their full style potential. This includes giving speeches, private consultation and personal shopping, all in an effort to help my clients attain the image they desire.

Presently I'm enjoying being part of the team of bloggers at with my blog I will be interviewing celebrities, designers and Chicago personalities along with my weekly posts that include "In or Out" and "Street Fashion." Hope you continue to take the journey with me. As my readers are always an important part of my success.
