My "Blades of Steel"-aided Hawks-Canucks Prediction

It's gonna be one heck of a series. Blackhawks. Canucks. They hate each other. The hatred is going to be so personal that raw statistical breakdown predictions will be rendered useless. No, only one thing can accurately predict this Western Conference Semifinal result.

Blades of Steel.

ka-CHING!!!

For some reason, I can't get the fricking video to save properly. This game was awesome and technology failed me. Corrupt format? I'LL SHOW YOU A CORRUPT FORMAT, COMPUTER.

But luckily I was able to take screenshots from the game. A picture's worth a thousand words, and a pixel's worth about 30.

Let's do this.

The game was scoreless through the first two periods. Approximately 20 fights erupted during those 40 minutes, and the referees decided to reward the winner of said fights with a power play. (Gotta love Nintendo logic.) But then, during the 2nd intermission, things changed....

OH CRAP GAME WITHIN A GAME

Um....sure?

Okay, that's just ridiculous.

After the mid-game Konami infomercial, action heated up immediately. The Canucks scored an embarrassing shorty four minutes in...I think it was a Sedin. They all look the same.

Maybe it was the other Sedin.

Then, with about nine minutes remaining and the Hawks trailing 2-1, the most exciting event possible in Blades of Steel occurred...

OH SNAP

Toews vs. Luongo

TAZER WINS!

The Hawks tacked on a go-ahead goal by...uh...let's say Colin Fraser. And then Andrew Ladd put in an empty-netter. At least I think it was Andrew Ladd.

It sorta looked like him.

Final score according the greatest NES hockey game ever made: Blackhawks 4, Canucks 2. I was going to predict the Hawks in seven games, but the oracle has spoken.

Blackhawks in 6.
