5 Places to go just for Dessert

5 Places to go just for Dessert

Dessert is arguably the best part of the meal. And sometimes, there are those moments, when you simply want to go out, just for dessert. Below are 5 places to try for your dessert night out.

Pizzeria Bebu: Whoever invented the skillet cookie is my hero. Bebu serves ‘Nora’s cookie,’ which arrives in a skillet, piping hot and a la mode. The cookie is gooey, doughy and fantastic. Bebu, Lincoln Park’s newest pizza joint, is small and only has window seating, which, in my book, is a win. [Pictured]

Quiote: If you aren’t familiar with Quiote, then you haven’t been keeping up with your reading. Voted best new restaurant of 2017 by virtually every publication, Quiote serves one of my favorite desserts. Paletas. The flavors tend to vary with the season or perhaps the chef’s mood and they are melt-in-your-mouth irresistable. The mint chocolate chip is my go-to.

Mastros: The bar at Mastros is the best! It’s always bustling, the live jazz music is the perfect background noise and the bar is gorgeous. Belly-up to the bar, order a nice glass of cabernet and the butter cake. This cake arrives warm with vanilla ice cream on top and is one of the best desserts ever to meet your lips. Skip the steak and just come here for the jazz and butter cake. It’s that good.

Bang Bang Pie: Bang Bang makes my heart flutter. It’s casual, the menu is fresh and always flowing with the season and the pies are AMAZING. Selling them by the slice or as a whole pie, it is the place to go for pie. You can’t go wrong, but I have a thing for all things lemon, and the lemon bar pie with shortbread crust and lavender sea salt won my heart.

La Bodega: This adorable boutique dessert and taco shop serves churros and sundaes in every way shape or form you could imagine. There are 6 different kinds of churros to choose from and you can top it with any kind of topping. You can even make the churro into a sundae filled with ice cream. Or better yet, order the Mexican hot chocolate that comes with a churro.
