Logan Square's Vintage Sports Bar, Park & Field, is the Reason to Travel West

The energy at Park & Field is contagious from the moment you enter.

What used to be an automotive garage and gas station, is now a retro-inspired sports bar in Logan Square that holds 130 people for libations, eats and more.

It is your answer to Sunday funday.

Upon arrival, you are first greeted by a large outdoor patio with fire pits, an outdoor bar and bocce ball. It’s like an adult playground, one that invites you to lounge at your leisure as if you were in your own backyard.

The establishment gives off a relaxed sports bar vibe with vintage sports gear like rackets and jerseys hung on the walls. There are even a few lockers by the bathrooms to give you that gym feel. The bathrooms, though quite simple, have powdered soap dispensers which makes washing your hands just a bit more enjoyable.

I had a good feeling about Park & Field even before visiting. When I walked in for brunch on Saturday morning, I just knew it was going to be a good day.

The weekend brunch is quite the deal. For $20 you get unlimited brunch buffet. The menu steers south of the border offering chilaquiles and breakfast burritos then heads back north providing more standard items like pancakes, an omelette station, hashbrowns and freshly baked doughnut holes. You can also choose from a wide selection of meats and cheeses as well as a make-your-own lox station.

And, if you are looking to get boozy, for $10 more you get bottomless mimosas, bloody marys and/or Miller High Life. The deal runs until 2:15pm for food 2:30pm for booze, so not only can you get a nice buzz, but you have 15 extra minutes to get another drink. The brunch is a happy time to say the least and the atmosphere is so inviting you almost never want to leave. It exudes fun.

A few tips before you go. Make a reservation for brunch if you can. The wait can be long here, especially with such a deal and people tend to linger. If you want to make s’mores, they have them, just ask. Come with friends, this place is perfect for groups.

I can’t wait to come back in the summertime and enjoy this fantastic patio to the fullest. I predict my bocce record will improve come fall.
