On November 3, 2010, I wrote my first post for ChicagoNow under the name of Being Catholic … Really. On November 4, I created the Facebook page with the same title. Ten years later, here I am still celebrating, writing, creating and posting about the Catholic faith.
The realization that ten years went by is a bit startling. I vividly remember reading an article on ChicagoNow and then seeing the button “pitch your idea.” “Why not?,” I thought. I’m a convert and I felt I had a story to tell. I filled out the form, thought up a name and hit that button.
When I received the email that my idea was accepted, I laughed, and thought, “Now I’m going to have to write something!”
Since this year has had its limitations, I decided I would be remiss if I didn’t celebrate. I’ve met some amazing people through my blog who have helped me with the technical aspects of blogging and social media. I’ve met people through my fan page who I have been friends with all these years. I’ve also met amazing authors who have encouraged and blessed me with their talents.
Melanie has graciously agreed to help me celebrate my 10th anniversary by donating two of her books to ten people! Winners will get both Sisterhood of Saints and her soon to be released new book, “Brotherhood of Saints.” I adore the book Sisterhood of Saints! I’ve given it as a gift several times.
Here’s how you can enter to win:
Email me at email@example.com with the subject line: Ten Years of Being Catholic Really. Tell me a little bit about yourself. Are you a cradle or a convert to the faith? When did you come across my blog? Have you been a long-time follower or did you just recently start following my FB page?
That’s it! I’ll take submissions until Monday, November 16, 2020. I’ll announce the winners here and on Facebook that week. Once the winners are selected, I’ll notify you through your email address and forward your mailing address to Melanie, who will take over and send you your books. (USA submissions only please!)
I am so grateful to all of you for your continued support. I’ve learned so much about my faith because of all of you. Let’s all celebrate ten years of Being Catholic Really as we continue this faith journey together.
Type your email address in the box and click the “create subscription” button. My list is completely spam free, and you can opt out at any time, but I hope you’ll stick with me!
