Autumn Leaves

Autumn Leaves is one of those iconic songs that transcends generations.  Fall has always been my favorite season.  Leaves remind me of my father.

We had the curtains open and he was sitting up.  He was doing better and we were talking.  I asked him what he did to pass the time.  “I look out that window and watch the leaves on the tree,” he said pointing.

I looked around and saw a small window that couldn’t have been more than 20″ tall and 12″ wide.  There were some branches with a few leaves hanging from them, blowing in the wind.  I couldn’t speak.
