Walking With the Enemy is a new film that was released on April 25. I was invited to a viewing, but unfortunately I was ill and couldn’t make it.
Holocaust Remembrance Week began April 27 and will end May 4. May 6 is Israeli Independence Day.
Walking With the Enemy is the inspiring true story of a young couple swept up in the horrors of WWII who become separated during the invasion and occupation of Hungary by the German Army. Reunited by a series of incredible and fortuitous events, the young man disguises himself as a Nazi SS Officer, and the couple embarks on an unforgettable journey filled with suspense and danger. Together with the remarkable Swiss vice-consul, Carl Lutz, who issues protective passports, the couple and the Swiss government take extraordinary risks, as they are the only hope for saving thousands of souls headed for deportation and extermination in the Nazi death camps.
For more information you can go to the official web site Walking With the Enemy.
There is also a scriptural guide companion to the film that can be found here.
