The Jesus Book Club Conversation

I found the Jesus Book Club Conversation the other day and it took me about ten seconds to decide to sign up and purchase Fr. Martin’s book, Jesus:  A Pilgrimage (also available on Kindle).

I love to read and I love to talk about the books I’ve read.  I used to belong to Women on the Edge (WOE), a Catholic book club years ago.  It was great to meet once a month and discuss the book we were reading.  Since I haven’t belonged to a “club” in such a long time, I thought a virtual one would be fun.

Though I love all kinds of books, The Jesus Book Club Conversation, gives me an opportunity to read a book about my faith and discuss it with others.  Not only do I find this enjoyable, but I think it’s important to be supportive of one another’s faith.

Reading great Catholics books is a gift we can all share.  Here are a few of my favorites:

Sisterhood of the Saints by Melanie Rigney – Keep this one within easy reach.

Shirt of Flame by Heather King – I just finished this.  If you’ve read The Story of a Soul by St. Thérèse of Lisieux  this is a great companion book.  If you haven’t read it, Heather King’s book will make you want to as soon as you’re finished.

Mother Angelica’s Little Book of Life Lessons and Everyday Spirituality (with Raymond Arroyo) – Mother Angelica.  Enough said.

Mr. Blue by Myles Connolly – My favorite Catholic book of all time!  I read it when I was in high school, long before my conversion and it stayed with me all these years.

So head on over to CatholicMom.com and sign up for the emails.  First chapter of Fr. Martin’s book starts May 18 so you still have time.  See you there!
