The Littlest of Miracles

I used to get a lot of stuff in the mail from religious organizations.  Prayer cards, Mass Intention folders, medals and other things.  I haven’t gotten anything like that in a long time until today (Wednesday, April 27th).

I opened up an envelope that appeared to be all in Spanish.  I couldn’t figure it out.  There were address labels with my name on them, note cards, a calendar and a key ring with our family’s name on it.  As I looked at the pictures, I realized that the pictures were of Our Lady of Guadalupe and it came from the Sacred Heart Monastery in Wisconsin.
Nothing out of the ordinary?  As I held the key ring in my hand, I began to smile.  Our choir is going to sing at a Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe on the south side, here in Chicago very soon!

I carefully placed the key ring with the image of Our Lady in my guitar case (along with a picture of my father and the father of a good friend of mine – both of whom played guitar).  The three of them will watch over me and the rest of the choir as we are reunited in our ministry.

A Prayer To
Our Lady of

Our Lady of Guadalupe,
Mystical Rose,
make intercession for holy Church,
protect the sovereign Pontiff,
help all those who invoke you in their necessities,
and since you are the ever Virgin Mary
and Mother of the true God,
obtain for us from your most holy Son
the grace of keeping our faith,
of sweet hope in the midst of the bitterness of life
of burning charity, and the precious gift
of final perseverance.
